Friday started the weekend with rain, but nonetheless the Multicultural Student Club (MSC) gathered a lively karaoke night for the community. Lead Faculty José Coss opened the night with a spirited rendition of That’s Life by Frank Sinatra before opening the floor to students.

“It was a great turnout,” said MSC President Sasha Luhur ’27. “This was our first MSC event of the year, so it’s important to make an impression on the members and the wider school community.”

“I’m really happy with how the night turned out,” added Coss. “Our intention was to do a bonfire with the MSC students on an attempt to create camaraderie between the students and have a space where they could have fun.”

Friday’s rain forecast forced a change of plans and the MSC switched to a karaoke night last minute, but the event still turned out successful.

“It was a pleasure hosting the MSC karaoke night,” said Luca Giugno ’27, who stepped up as MC for the night. “We had a great time and discovered some hidden talents!”

MSC opened the event to be school-wide, and many students participated in an MSC club activity for the first time.

“I thought it was a great idea that successfully brought the community closer,” said Elliott Murch ’27. “Even though I was a little nervous getting on stage and singing in front of a crowd, I had a lot of fun and was glad I did it. I also enjoyed seeing other people step out of their comfort zone and truly having fun.”

“It was really cool that we had our core group but also a lot of people that aren’t normally part of the club join in on the fun,” said Luhur.  “MSC is open to everyone, so I’m glad we got wider school reach through a fun group event.”
