Winter  weekend at Northwood is a big event every year for the school, and this year it is the 39th year of the Northwood Invitational hockey tournament. There will be games played by all 3 hockey teams at Northwood.

Each team has a game that they are particularly looking forward to. The Junior Team will face off against prep rival St. Andrews College on Friday, January 12 at 7pm on the 1932 Olympic rink. The Prep Team has a big tilt against prep rival Cheshire Academy on Saturday at 2:45 pm on the USA rink. Finally, the Girls Team’s biggest game of the weekend is on Saturday versus a very good Selects Academy at 11:10 am on the USA rink. There will be other games to watch the schedule is posted online.

Other activities include a pond hockey tournament for parents and Northwood alumni. It will take place at the Golden Arrow hotel right in downtown Lake Placid. To register for the event, go to https://winterweekend2018.eventbrite.com.

Events that don’t involve skates or pucks include a cross-country skiing outing at 3pm on Saturday at Bartell Pavilion, an Alumni Skiers Happy Hour from 5pm to 6:45 pm on Saturday at Players Bar and Grill, and a reception for parents and alumni on Saturday from 7pm to 8:30 pm at the 3rd floor of the Lake Placid Conference Center adjacent to the 1932 Arena.
