16U Advances to Tier 1 State Tournament Going 2-0 in Sectionals

u16 (November 5-6, 2016) This past weekend the U16 team competed in the Northern Sectional tournament for the chance to play in the Tier 1 U16 State tournament. In game one Northwood faced off against the Troy-Albany Titans in which the Huskies won 7-0. Goals were scored by Weston Batt (2) (forward, 2019), Tommy Bannister (forward, 2020), Nate Boak (defense, 2019), Sean Bunting (forward, 2019), Cody Monds (forward, 2020), and Stephen Panico (forward, 2019). Verneri Virtanen (2020) earned the shutout in net. Game two was played against the CP Dynamo and the Huskies again took care of business shutting out their opponent, earning Virtanen his second shutout in two days. Goals were scored by Weston Batt (2), Tommy Bannister, and Jared Lambright (defense, 2020). The win secured the Huskies place in the State Tournament, a first in school history.
