Junior Team Has Strong Showing Against Prep Foes

The Junior hockey team got off to a 2-0-1 start competing in New Hampshire against NEFPL (New England Fall Prep League) competition. In the first game Wyatt Wilmshurst (Forward, 2017) struck for both goals and Matt Petizian (2017) was solid in net as the Huskies skated to a 2-2 tie.

In game two, the boys prevailed 5-1 with Wilmshurst, Aleksi Peltonen (Forward, 2017), Kaden Pickering (Forward, 2017), scoring goals, and Simon Morberg (Forward, 2017) burying two. P.O. Marchand (2017) made 17 stops to secure his first junior team win.

In the third game the Huskies won 3-1 with Kevin Lombardi (Forward, 2017) and Aleksi Peltonen striking for goals before Anton Sporre (Defense, 2018) added an empty netter. Petizian was in net for his first win of the season.

Highlights: Kaden Pickering led the way with 5 points (1G,4A), Aleksi Peltonen (2G,2A) and Wyatt Wilmshurst (3G,1A) each had 4, Christian DiCesare (Defense, 2017) had 3 assists, Jesper Peltonen (Defense, 2017) had 2 assists, Simon Morberg struck for 2 goals, Kevin Lombardi had a goal, and Patrick Callahan (Forward, 2018) and Sam DiBitetto (Forward, 2018) each had an assist. Head Coach Chadd Cassidy said ,“I was happy with our start to the season. Although we are a work in progress, it was an excellent starting point. We will continue to get better going forward.”
