NCAA D1 Men’s Hockey Tournament Preview

While March Madness consumes the basketball world, another thrilling tournament is just getting started. The 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Championship features 16 teams battling across four regional sites for a spot in the Frozen Four. This year, it is being held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 9 and 11. The Big Ten conference dominates the conversation heading in, with Michigan standing as the top overall seed after a dominant regular season. Meanwhile, defending champion Western Michigan looks to do something rare in college hockey — repeat. With powerhouse programs, a Cinderella or two, and a first-ever Frozen Four in Las Vegas, this tournament has all the components for a great time.

Albany Regional – No. 1 Michigan vs. Bentley, Minnesota Duluth vs. Penn State

Sioux Falls Regional – No. 2 North Dakota vs. Merrimack, Providence vs. Quinnipiac

Worcester Regional – No. 3 Michigan State vs. UConn, Dartmouth vs. Wisconsin

Loveland Regional – No. 4 Western Michigan vs. Minnesota State, Denver vs. Cornell
