Humans of Northwood: Wyatt Wardlaw ’24

Since I grew up in Lake Placid my whole life, it only made sense I attended Northwood. Also, my mom works there, so it was really a no-brainer. I’m going on my 4th year, graduating this spring. I have enjoyed Northwood because of its hands-on learning approach with the academics and being able to have closer connections with teachers. Thanks to Northwood, I will be attending Bently University next year, and I plan on studying finance and business.

One of my side hobbies is working on my car to make it louder and annoy my mom even more. I have always been fascinated by cars and the mechanics that go into making them, especially the obnoxiously loud and extremely fast ones. I find the science and development of all types of cars interesting to read about and find different unique parts compared to others.

One of my most favorable memories was at graduation last year. I watched as my friends, who had worked hard all year with their academics and sports, finally got to graduate. We spent the day celebrating them and their accomplishments. If I could give any advice to a young incoming freshman, it would be that no matter what, don’t stop pushing, even when you feel too overwhelmed and stressed at times. It won’t last. And make sure to be proud of yourself and the work you put in, even when it comes to the little things.
