Saturday night the girl’s hockey team hosted their final game of the season at the Olympic Center in honor of the 10 graduating seniors. On an emotional night, the Huskies were able to channel their energy and crush CP Dynamo 10-1.
The game began with all 6 “Four Year Survivors” starting in the first puck drop. In the first minute, Moe Tsukimoto (Forward, 2018) and Keeley Rose got on the board, allowing the Huskies to take a quick 2-0 lead. The pressure continued to be all Northwood throughout the first as 4 more goals were scored before the end of the period. Aimee Headland (Forward, 2019), Kendall Dubin (Forward, 2018), Hadley Swedlund (Forward, 2020) added one a piece and Tsukimoto picked up her second of the game to make the score 6-0.
In the second, play began to even out as the Huskies struggled to maintain their high intensity pace. Halfway through the second period Ashley Davis (Goalie, 2017 PG) exchanged positions with Olivia Skriloff (Goalie, 2018). In the last half of the period Miranda Bookman (Forward, 2020) got on the board pushing the lead to 7-0. In the final seconds a breakaway was allowed and CP Dynamo capitalized to cut the lead to 7-1.
The third period was more in tune with the first as the Huskies regained control and netted 3 more goals to complete the 10-1 win. Hanna Rose (Defense, 2018) added a goal, Headland added her second of the game, and Tsukimoto completed her hat trick.
With this weekend win, the Huskies move to 31-14-6 on the season. This coming weekend the girls will travel to Buffalo, NY to compete in the state tournament. If they win, the girls will extended their season into April where they will compete at nationals.

We would like to honor all of our seniors and thank them for their time at Northwood:
“I’m going to miss the seniors. Though all the ups and downs of the season they have always found a way to show us underclassmen how to keep our heads high. They’ve been there since the first day to help us as new students and make us all comfortable in a new environment. They have been great influences on all of us and made my first year and great one. Thank you to all the seniors and I wish you all the best of luck in all of your futures” – Marina Alvarez ‘21
