The Huskies started the game strong and overcame the adversities of injured players and a long bus trip. The girls outplayed Lawrenceville from the start and were able to strike once in the first period. Lexi Hooper (Defense, 2020) scored blocker side to take the lead for the Huskies 1-0. Midway through the second, Lawrenceville was able to tie the game up 1-1 on a rush. Going into the third, the Huskies had the offensive lead and continued to push hard towards the Lawrenceville net. Despite maintaining control, Lawrenceville was able to capitalize on their power play and take the lead with just under 10 minutes remaining. Eight minutes later, Keeley Rose drew a penalty and the Huskies tied it up on the power play. Moe Tsukimoto (Forward, 2018) scored off a Sierra Benjamin (Defense, 2018) feed in front to knot the game at 2-2. Neither team could find the back of the net as time expired. Courtney Fairchild (Goalie, 2020) saved 13 of 15 shots in the tie.

With this weekend’s results, the Huskies move to 26-12-6 on the season. Next weekend, the Huskies have two games against New Jersey prep Hill School.
