With the season winding down, the boys still had work to do. They were in the USPHL playoffs, and were looking to bring some championship hardware back to Lake Placid. The first weekend of playoffs was played in Worcester, MA versus the Northern Cyclones and Springfield Pics. These two games were must-wins in order to advance.

In their first game, the boys saw the Northern Cyclones. They had played them earlier in the season and won both games. Still, the group needed to focus and come out with a win. They did just that. Will Arquiette (Forward, 2019) started the scoring, and the group never looked back. With goals coming from Cody Monds (Forward, 2020), Sean Bunting (Forward, 2019), Finlay Ulrick (Forward, 2019), Sam DiBitetto (Forward, 2018), Patrick Callahan (Forward, 2018), Jared Lambright (Defense, 2020) and Tommy Bannister (Forward, 2020), the boys took an 8-0 win.
In their second game, the boys faced a tough and strong Springfield Pics team. Again, they saw them earlier in the year in Boston where they took the win. This was another must-win in order to advance to the semi-finals. Monds started the scoring for the Huskies. It was a goalie battle, as Husky goaltender Jacob Mucitelli ‘19 was phenomenal in net. Bunting added an empty-netter to give the Huskies a 2-0 win. The group was on to the semi-finals the following weekend.
After a good few days of break, the Huskies were back at it, this time in Springfield, MA, to continue their mission of the USPHL championship. They saw a very strong Selects Academy in the semi-finals. The game did not go as the group wanted, and the squad lost 4-0. There were some positives to the game, but overall the group was very upset.
The group has its final two games this weekend at home vs Seacoast Prep. The Huskies look to finish strong and conclude the seniors’ Northwood career with two wins in their last games in Northwood uniforms.
The team wants to thank the seniors for all they’ve done, and they will be greatly missed.
