(January 14-16, 2017)The Northwood School Prep team started slowly in the Northwood Invitational, but in the end the coaches and team had much to be proud of.

The Prep team opened the Northwood Invitational with a slow start Saturday, dropping both games, one to Upper Canada College 4-1, and the other the Le Sommet International Hockey Academy 3-1.

Sunday the Huskies got back on pace with a 3-2 victory over CP Dynamo, scoring three power play goals. Head Coach Jeff Silengo said the team “played a more defensive style of play, limiting scoring chances against.”.

On Monday the Huskies beat Bridgton Academy 1-0 in another defensive battle. PO Marchand (2017) got the shutout, and Evan Carroll (Forward, 2017)  scored the lone goal.  Silengo recapped the weekend saying, “With a slow start to the Northwood Invitational, we were able to turn the tide and end on a positive note, beating both CP Dynamo and Bridgton Academy’s top team.Throughout all four games, we received tremendous support from Northwood students, teachers, and faculty, and that was a main reason for our perseverance late in the tournament.”
