Prep Team Stays Undefeated

The Prep team traveled to Ottawa this weekend (Oct 1 and 2) and took both games 6-3 and 5-2 respectively. In game one Luke Damiano (Forward, 2017) scored twice, Anthony Nicolia (Forward, 2018), Connor Reid (Forward, 2018), Evan Carrol (Forward, 2017), and Stephen Gilligan (Forward, 2017) each scored one. Coach Jeff SIlengo said, “The team got off to a slow start and Ottawa took it to us early.  Drew Goldberg (2017) kept us in the game early and we were able to bounce back in the third and score 3 goals in the last 10 minutes of the game to go on and win.”

In the second game, Carroll and Joe MacLean (Forward, 2017) both scored twice, and Safwaan Kahn (Forward, 2018) added one, while Luke Damiano notched 3 assists. Ottawa got off to an early lead scoring 1:46 into the game, but Silengo was pleased with his team’s rebound saying, “We were able to come back and tie it up at the end of the first.  Erik Short was strong in net for us throughout the game, making a few huge saves in the third.  JP Montmarquette (Defense, 2017) stepped up for us in the second period as he took a hard shot from the point through traffic and it was tipped in by Khan.  That was the turning point in the game.We play Ottawa again in two weeks and we need to come out with a better start if we want to be successful”.
