Mr. Mike Maher is Northwood’s Head of School. He may be the most recognizable member of our community, but how much do you know about him? Here are 10 things about Mr. Maher you may not know.

  1. He has an identical twin brother.
  2. His oldest friend is a faculty member Mr. Gino Riffle.
  3. From time-to-time, he plays piano for the patrons of the Interlaken Inn, for which he earns a free dinner.
  4. He was the captain of his college hockey team at the University of Vermont.
  5. Was in the marching band in high school. He played the French horn and trumpet while being an all-state soccer and hockey player.
  6. During his senior year of high school, he scored 14 goals in soccer — 13 of them with his head.
  7. Received the University of Vermont’s most prestigious award at his college graduation.
  8. Has three children, Samuel, Madeline and Isabelle.
  9. He is a crazed Minnesota Vikings fan.
  10. Has never seen a meal he did not like.

And one bonus fact:

  1. He is reportedly one of the top wedding dancers of all time.
