Restaurant Review: Smoke Signals

smoke signals

Smoke Signals in Lake Placid.

2489 Main Street in Lake Placid is the address of the famous Smoke Signals, my favorite restaurant in all of Lake Placid to eat out at with friends and family. Tourists love eating at Smoke Signals because of its unique view of Mirror Lake, the phenomenal food they serve on their plates, live music nights, amazing vibes given off and more.

Smoke Signals reminds me a lot of a popular restaurant back home called Madisons. From the sports coverage, to the attentive waiters and great food, it feels like home.

The exterior of Smoke Signals on Main Street.

While entering Smoke Signals, you right away get to see their giant TV, from which they broadcast all the sports, a humongous bar, and at the back of the restaurant is the patio and famous view of Mirror Lake through a glass wall.

Diners can choose booths or tables ranging from 2-10 people and many seats outside as well. On top of eating amazing food, if you are lucky enough to grab a table or booth looking over Mirror Lake, your meal and atmosphere become that much more enjoyable, which is my favorite feature of the restaurant.

The choices of food are endless at Smokes Signals. Starting from their phenomenal appetizers, which include homemade fried pickles, “award-winning wings,” nachos, shrimp cocktails, and the list goes on. My favorite appetizers are their spicy wings and their amazing fried pickles. In my opinion, they complements each other.

AdkTacos

The Adirondack Tacos at Smoke Signals.

For the main course, you have many options, ranging from farm fresh salads and wraps, BBQ classics, burgers, steaks, and my favorite, the “Adirondack BBQ Tacos.” The Adirondack Tacos are three large soft shell tacos stuffed with your choice of meat, lettuce, cheese, salsa with BBQsauce and a a side of fries. It’s a delicious, filling and tasty meal that I enjoy every time I sit down at Smoke Signals.

Smoke Signals is conveniently located just a twenty minute walk or three minute cab ride from Northwood. I highly recommend eating out at Smoke Signals if you are in Lake Placid, because the food and service will not disappoint.
